When to get help

Pause here

Seek emergency hospital care now for a rash that does not fade when pressed, or fever with a stiff neck, confusion, a seizure, severe worsening headache, unusual sleepiness or difficulty waking. A rash can be harder to see on brown or black skin, and serious illness may happen without one, so do not wait for a rash or every symptom.
