When to get help

Pause here

Arrange prompt in-person medical and eye assessment for severe persistent itch with firm lumps under the skin or sight changes. Get same-day care for worsening or blurred vision, eye pain, a red eye or light sensitivity. Sudden loss of sight needs emergency care. Do not start ivermectin on your own; follow a clinician or local NTD programme because treatment may need adjustment where other filarial infections coexist.
