Arrange a prompt in-person medical examination. Get same-day care if the swelling rapidly worsens, becomes hot or severely painful, drains pus, comes with fever, or makes walking or normal movement difficult. Do not cut or squeeze it, use acid wart removers, or start antibiotic or antifungal treatment without clinical direction.
